HOT SHOTS

A Tip from one of Zaio’s top photographers

Thom Mahan, a Zaio photographer/appraiser based in Phoenix, is a relatively new member of Zaio’s team. Recognizing the merits of planning and goal-setting quickly made him one of Zaio’s top shooters. Mahan writes:

Setting several goals throughout the day will help you hit your daily goal. When I shot over 1,600 photos in one day this summer, I set goals at 500 and at 1,000 to help me set the record. I played a mind game with myself and these smaller goals made it much easier to reach my main goal. Think of it like running a marathon (26 miles). If you have run five miles and realize you have 21 more to go, you’ll never get past the next mile marker. By breaking it up into smaller portions you can trick your mind. Before you know it, you’ve finished your smaller races, and you’re almost at the finish line.
